article (B-1) Approche critique et interprétative

Abstract : This article is based on Spinoza's critical article A-3-criticism of Reason in Spinoza and introduction of multiple reasons in his works (everyone's reason for something is based on premises derived from what he perceives as the necessities of the nature of the thing and his own nature and premises driven ultimately by his feelings). The thesis argued in this article (A-3) leads us to favour an interpretative approach to the sociological terrain. Our sociological anthropology is that of E.P. Thompson : people, even 'ordinary' and oppressed people, think and can be driven by reason, their reason. The proposed epistemology is based on the first assumption that all organisations and all people, agents or not of these organisations, wishing to be and to act with a certain coherency (under the guidance of reason, with ideas and actions 'that make sense') are necessarily guided by more or less complex declarative and performative statements. These statements are a priori, implicitly or explicitly stated by these organisations and individuals, and they are indisputable by the logic they inspire. These statements give the meaning of this logic, a logic sometimes called ''rationality'', ''pragmatism'', ''efficiency'', etc... This is to underline the fact that there is no such thing as "good" rationality, pragmatism, efficiency in itself. This first assumption is based on philosophical considerations mobilising Spinoza, Popper and Kuhn, Hume, etc developed in the article "(A-1) Argumentation for multiple reasons about one thing". This assumption leads us to adopt a priori the anthropology of E.P. Thompson for whom every person thinks, whether he or she is dominated or dominant, and is therefore not necessarily alienated or has a hungry or full belly. Our second assumption is that the statements inspiring organizations are a priori different from the statements inspiring the people involved in these organizations, including their agents. Therefore, "agreements" between people, between organisations and people and between organisations , all driven by different a priori reasons, can be obtained by adhesion or submission to a power struggle or violence.
